NEFESH

SHABBAT SERVICES

Nefesh is a group of students who create community and lead services using the Reform movement’s prayer book, along with poetics readings, musical instruments and creative teachings to foster a dynamic spiritual experience for Jewish students of all backgrounds.

KOLEINU

Koleinu is a group of students who create community and lead services using a Conservative Movement prayer book, drawing from all parts of the traditional egalitarian Jewish world with melodies, prayers, and teachings to create a prayer experience for Jewish students seeking more traditional services.

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS

Jewish Studies Program

Jewish Studies is interdisciplinary and global, encompassing religion, history, and culture, Israel Studies and Holocaust Studies. NU Jewish Studies offers students educational and travel experiences.

Kol Yisrael

This learning fellowship focuses on historical and cultural aspects of Israel. Students meet once a week as a cohort to expand their knowledge on the holy land. Pre-registration is required. Meets weekly. All participants earn a stipend at the end of the semester.

Jewish Learning Fellowship

Students participate in a 10 week Torah study and discussions program led by our rabbinic intern and/or Jewish educators. Pre-registration is required. Meets weekly. All participants earn a stipend at the end of the semester.
